LeBanbino150Le Bambino

Tricky to find but well worth the mission deep into the city side of Da Nang lies Le Bambino, one of the first western style restaurants to pop up in Da Nang and run by a French couple this restaurant is a hit every time.  The meal and wine selection is somewhat European and the cosy atmosphere makes you feel right at home.  Definitely worth a visit.

Local food

In Da Nang’s city center there are plenty of interesting little street food places, mostly serving variations of traditional Vietnamese food.  They can sometimes be a hit or miss – but always worth the risk for the low cost.  An entire meal will only set you back a few thousand Vietnamese Dong (usually around $2 – $5 US Dollars).  The authentic eating experience will be something you remember long after your trip is over.  A local lunch often consists of rice, vegetables and meat or the local noodle specialty, called my quang.

If it’s seafood you crave then you will have no problem finding an outdoor seafood restaurant as you near the beachfront.  These seafood restaurants are more about taste than glam.  They are often concreted areas with little plastic chairs and filtrated buckets with a myriad of different sea creatures in them. Not a lot of menus are in English so just point and choose the creature of your choice. Along the beach front you can find the more up-market seafood restaurants where you can sit on the balcony overlooking the water.

Da Nang has a range of culinary options for the bold, the refined palettes and the penny pinchers.  So come hungry!
